hello,
i´d like to buy a domain from it´s owner. the problem is that nobody
answers my emails at the address that is listed. i also contacted
them through www.register.com with a price. also no answer. i
believe that the person no longer uses that email. the whois database
only lists the email and colorado springs as a location. the
telephone listed is disconnected. i already made all the phone calls
i found in the yellowpages with the last name fannin in colorado with
no luck. maybe the person moved. maybe i need to hire a service that
finds people. could you
recommend one to me? the search should specifically consist of the information:
fannin@medusa.com
colorado springs
www.medusa.com
any help would be greatly appreciated,
eric
p.s. i need to make a decision regarding my website´s name this week
and need to know if medusa is an option. therefore a speedy response
is needed. so regarding the $200 invested in research time for the
search, please within today and tomorrow. ideally today if not
counterproductive. thanks again. |

Jeeeeeez!
It would be easier to find Jimmy Hoffa!
I've had this question locked a good part of the day, but I will
unlock it now because I know you're in a rush, and perhaps another
researcher will have some more luck.
In the course of my research I did learn that:
--the "fannin" of medusa.com is Ruth Fannin, and her address was in
Ohio, even though medusa.com has a Colorado address.
--there was also a Brian Brick associated with medusa.com.
--the phone number on the whois record produced a busy signal for
me....is that what happened to you when you tried it?
If anything else turns up, I'll be sure to let you know. I must
say...I'm rather curious about this one, after all these dead ends.

jjjjeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzz is right!!!!
it has not been easy. i´m not a pro like you must be, but i know how
to search decently and had no luck at all.
anyway, how´d you get brian brick and ruth from ohio from medusa.com?
i did a (*@medusa.com) search and nothing else came up other than
fannin. nice job!!! i only got this far (not very):
http://phone.people.yahoo.com/py/psPhoneSearch.py?srch=bas&D=1&FirstName=&LastName=Fannin&City=&State=CO&Search=Yahoo%21+Searchfanni
://www.google.com/search?q=fannin@medusa.com&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
those are details though and your tricks of the trade... now, what
role do these two people play in the domain? which one owns it? and
how can i reach them? when?
i haven't contacted either of them. the only contact i've made is
'cold calling' all the people with a last name of fannin in colorado.
no success. no fun either!
let me know if you need me to do some legwork. this is a TOP
PRIORITY. call me locally in the states and you can be routed to my
office in mex, if you think talking could speed up the process.
305.375.6000,
best,
eric
FYI i'm instituting a company this week (mexico) because i'm going to
start programming a commercial website. quite clearly, i'd love
medusa as the name. as i'm sure you know, there are a lot of
technical, legal and corporate issues to consider regarding the name.
my hands are partially tied without this issue being resolved. PLEASE
GET ME IN TOUCH WITH THE OWNER TOMORROW. if you do, i'll send you an
extra $50 for being such an awesome searcher. if i'm able to cut a
deal with the owner and buy a name, i'll send you $100. i give you my
word. So, we're in this together!!! Let's get to work...
p.s. i've know a guy that has a domain registering site here in mex.
i didn't get a chance to talk to him, but apparently there are some
loopholes in the system (i was told). by that i mean, possibly being
able to get the name through other means, privvy information, etc...
whether or not this is true, i'll find out tomorrow. is there some
intelligent questions you, since you're probably more in touch with
this topic than i am, that i might ask this guy to get my closer to my
objective?

Eric,
I'll do my best on this, and give you an update tomorrow.
But please be aware that it is contrary to Google Answers rules for us
to have any communications outside of posting here at this site. Any
business we do together will have to be by posting messages back and
forth.
As for your Mexico question, Im afraid I can't help you there. I'm
not aware (and really can't imagine) any way you could get medusa.com
as a domain name without the current owner giving it up first.
Of course, there are other options -- medusa.biz, medusa.info, etc. --
but I gather it is the .com name that interests you the most.
Stay tuned....

paf,
the tip i'm offering would be through google as well as any
communication between us, being part of the rules. no problem. i
just wanted to get to the bottom of this asap.
fyi- i just got this email and this is what i responded... (i think
they own .au but am not sure)
terry,
please confirm that the director owns:
www.medusa.com
because i'm NOT interested in:
www.medusa.com.au
thank you for your time,
ERic

Dear Eric
Yes one of our directors of one of our companies owns the name - which
is important to our hotel of the same name. It is not for sale.

Eric,
As promised....an update.
Much as I'd like to help you on this one (and collect all those tips
you mentioned!), I feel like I've come to a dead end. I've simply
come up empty on trying to track down a contact for Ruth Fannin (the
domain name owner), Brian Brick (a one-time partner in medusa.com), or
medusa.com itself.
If any inspiration strikes me, I'll certainly look into this in more
detail. But the way things are looking now, I wouldn't count on my
being able to provide an answer for you.
However, if you want me to look for Jimmy Hoffa....!
paf
P.S. I spent some very wonderful times in Cuernavaca and Oaxaca years
back, learning to love Mexico and its people. Hope you feel the same.
