In the summer of 2003, we went to Greece for our honeymoon. We were
staying in the Pireus district of Athens, at a hotel in Kalamaki
Alimos, right across from the beach. We wanted to go out dancing so
went east to the Glyfada district where there was a Glyfada Square and
lots of restaurants but no dancing. Someone there told us of a club
called "Distil" which was only a few min more east down the highway
that runs along the coast. We asked a cab to take us there but the
cab took us much farther to a club about 45 min away (still going east
-- probably right out to the point of land). (Later we realized we
had seen "Distil" on the way and passed it and we went back to it
another night.) But this other club was amazing and very large --
must have held about 600 people or more. It seemed very new. It
didn't open until 2am so we spent the time sitting at a little waiting
area bar on the side of the highway near the ocean. It was quite high
up off the ocean. The club was on the other side of the highway --
backed with hills. We can't remember the name of the club but we
remember the sign in the front advertised a website and we very much
wanted to visit the website later to show people where we had been.
It was an amazing place. It had a huge stone medallion hanging at the
back of the dance floor with lights going up the hill in back. The
seating was terraced. Much of it was open-air. |

Hi guawa,
Is there anything else you can remember about this club? Any part of
the name, the name of the town it's located in, etc... Anything at all
might help in this search.
Best regards,
Rainbow

Sorry, I don't know much else. It was not anywhere near other homes
or buildings except the little cliff-side bar. It was in the middle
of nowhere along the highway.
We don't think it had a restaurant. There were no dining areas. It
was purely a huge dance floor surrounded by walking areas that were
like terraced very wide steps or platforms. Some of these terraces
had silk couches with a low coffee table in front. On the table would
be glasses and bottled water for people who had called ahead to
reserve these special seats.

Hi gauwa,
I have located the name of the club by emailing various contacts.
However, I have still not located their website.
Please let me know how you would like me to proceed.

If you cannot find the website, maybe that is because it is in Greek.
I would really like to have the website so we could see pictures of
the place.

Hi gauwa,
The following is the reply I received from the very helpful contact
(who maintains several Greek Tourism websites) who provided the name
of the club for me.
I asked him about a website:
>Do you by any chance know if this club has a website? The people who
have been there remember seeing a sign in the front advertising a
website.
"I looked for a site but could not find one. Sorry. Some of these
clubs change names every so often too."
Best of luck,
Rainbow
