I am an amrican born single guy (32), living and working in the USA. I
want to file an I-130 on behalf of my mother so she can come and live
with me.
My mother (divorced) worked and lived in the US for more than 30
years. Unfortunately due to family matters/health she HAS technically lost
her status of permanent resident since she has been abroad for 2
years. Her green card is still valid. Her whole life is in America
really!
My question is, do I really need the services of a law firm to file
this I-130 first(and probably later an I-864)? They do charge
expensive fees. Also she has 40 quarters of work in the US and I think
that the law allows using this fact? Should we use this too along with
the affidavit of support?
