According to Robert Palmer, Director, Digital Photography Advisory
Service, Lyra Research, ?more than 9 billion digital photos were
printed worldwide in 2003, and Lyra forecasts that number will grow to
over 31 billion by 2008. Today, most digital photographic prints are
produced in the home, but retail and online photofinishing services
are growing in popularity.?

According to TAK'ASIC CEO, Doug Goodyear, "there is increasing demand
for faster photo printing especially with devices that interface
directly with the printer such as digital cameras and mobile phones.
Well over nine billion digital photos will be printed this year, and
consumers want those prints ready in seconds, not minutes.?

?Last year (2002), of the approximately 27 billion digital photos
taken, only about 6 billion were printed, according to Lyra Research.
By 2007, the number of images printed is expected to rise to 14
billion while the number of digital photos taken is anticipated to
increase to 100 billion.?

Below you will find the additional information requested.

?The growing popularity of digital cameras is increasing the number of
digital photos taken and saved. This, in turn, translates into more
digital photos printed at various locations including at home, in
retail locations, and via online photo-printing services. In a new
report entitled Consumer Photo-Printing Market: Where Digital Photos
Will Be Printed, Lyra Research forecasts that revenue from photo
prints captured with digital cameras will increase from $6.6 billion
in 2002 to $15.1 billion in 2008, a compound annual growth rate of 12
percent.?

Retail Printing Of Photos Captured With Digital Cameras

"A new report from Lyra Research finds that worldwide revenue from
retail printing of photos captured with digital cameras will grow from
approximately $900 million in 2003 to $4.3 billion in 2008, a robust
compound annual growth rate of 36 percent."

?The majority of photos taken with digital cameras will continue to be
printed at home, signaling protracted opportunities for ink jet
printer and supplies vendors. Ultimately, however, this channel will
steadily decline in popularity,? explains Robert Palmer, director of
Lyra?s Digital Photography Advisory Service. Palmer adds, ?The biggest
growth forecast is in retail digital photo printing. The conveniences
associated with the retail option will contribute to a formidable
compound annual growth rate of 36 percent in revenue.?

At-Home Printing Of Photos Captured By Digital Cameras

?A new report from Lyra Research finds that worldwide revenue from
at-home printing of photos captured by digital camera will grow from
$7.1 billion in 2003 to $9.9 billion in 2008, a compound annual growth
rate of 9 percent.?

Photo Industry 2004: Review and Forecast
See page 7-8-9: Digital printing activity

More than 7 percent of digital prints are now ordered from online photo services

"When looking at just digital printing activity, the shift towards
retail printing is evident. Nearly 22 percent of digital printing
activity during 2003 occurred in a retail environment, compared to
just 9 percent a year
earlier. During 2004, more than one-third of digital prints are
projected to be made at retail outlets, and in 2006, retailers will
make 60 percent of digital prints. In 2004, retailers will make 1.4
billion digital
prints, and are projected to make 6.4 billion in 2006. The share of
prints ordered from online photo services is also rising, albeit at a
much slower pace. More than 7 percent of digital prints are now
ordered from online photo services."
