Hi all

I am looking for accurate and up to date information on world GDP
statistics and their corresponding retail sales. I would like the
data to be no older than 2003, 2004 would be first prize, but I will
settle for 2003.

Thank you

It's not clear to me what sort of information you want. Can you add a
bit of clarification to your question?

Thanks.

I was obviously not clear enough in my original posting. I am looking
for world GDP and Retail Sales trade broken down by country. The
information availale would most probably be in USD, which is fine. I
have 2002 data and I am looking for 2003 data, first prize would be
2004, but I am not sure how readily available 2004 data would be?

Ideally I am looking for something like this:

************************************
Country GDP Retail Sales
************************************
USA 10,416 2,527
************************************
          Million Million
          USD USD
          (2002) (2002)
************************************

Thank you
SS

Thanks....that helps.

It would also help to know the source of the 2002 data you already
have, so we can make sure you can get an apples-to-apples comparison.

Hi paf

I got the 2002 GDP data from the World Bank website. The location of
the information has changed since I download the information. It was
a PDF download. The 2002 Retail Sales trade data I got off
Euromonitor. It was just a sample so I only managed to get 30
countries or so. I am now looking for a comprehensive list.

I hope that helps.

Thanks. I suspected the retail sales data might be from EuroMonitor,
as they seem to be the key source for this sort of data.

Problem is...it's only available by subscription. The GDP data is
readily available at no charge, but I don't see a free source of
retail sales anywhere.

I'll keep looking. But it may well be that only half your request
(the GDP data is available as an answer to your question) while the
other half would have to be purchased directly from EuroMonitor or
another source.

Let me know how you'd like to proceed on this.

Thanks.
