I want to know the exact path of the sun. Where it rises on earth
first in the morning ie: which country? or /city/place eg: south
pacific, kiribati - to the path it follows across the earth ie: exact
countries/city/place to where it sets in the evening - and what times
it does this (if possible). thankyou

Hi, chickenhead2004-ga:

Are you interested in formulas to compute where the Sun is directly
overhead with respect to the Earth at any given day/time? Or perhaps
the setting and rising times for a given day with respect to a pair of
latitude/longitude coordinates?

Because the time zone boundaries are not precisely lines of longitude
(or even approximately so in some cases; all of China shares a single
time zone!), just keeping track of what time it is at varying points
on the globe could be a challenge. So typically computations are done
with respect to "universal" time, and the result convert to a "local"
time as appropriate.

The international date line is just a human contrivance. The sun
doesn't rise or set anywhere "first". It is a continuous action.

the reason Pink's message doesn't appear to make sense is because I
