x being about enough for bus fare, I assume. Maybe one night in a
motel. I doubt it's anything substantial, nor should it be. These
people have already enjoyed free room and board at the taxpayers
expense (and probably no work involved, either).

You people are ignorant and stupid and very closed minded. Did it
ever occur to you that innocent people get put away. You have know
clue about what some prisoners are going through. I was convicted
after defending myself. I defended my life and just because I did not
have enough money for proper defense I spent four years in prison.
Not all of us are "Bad" people. Some are hard working individuals who
made a mistake. Most are drug addicts who need help. Don't you
people have any compassion for human life. You disgust me and I dare
you to say any of those things in person to my face. Then again you
do not have the guts to back up any thoughts on this subject.

Bandit,

David, Steph and Nelson are not Google Researchers. You can identify
Google Answers Researchers by the "linkable" usernames they have.

It is possible that you haven't received a thorough answer so far
because it is something that is not so easy to find. Maybe the best
answer could be given by your prison's social worker. In the
meanwhile, here are some resources for you:

This is about (not) being entitled to Social Security:

Bandit, your username does not inspire confidence. Also, your
question was very short. You did not provide particulars. Perhaps
you should specify that you are talking about wrongly-imprisoned
persons who have been subsequently PROVEN not guilty. (You very
likely have a case, but I don't know if you'll get money
automatically. You may have to sue.) In this way researchers will
have a better idea of what to look for and commenters will not
ridicule you.

I apologize for jumping to a conclusion. I am sorry if I have
compounded your suffering with my lack of compassion.

Best of luck.

I thank politicalguru and Nelson, for their kind words and the attempt
at some help. As for my user name; It is the same as a soccer team I
grew up playing for. I played the sport for a very long time and it
even afforded me the chance to attend college. The site said not to
post a question with too many parts. So, I broke the question down to
its simplest form. I do not have the energy to fight the system
anymore, I am looking for any gov't programs or grants for released
felons. Put simply, I am trying to find a way to get back on my feet
with some help from the state or federal gov't. I would like to put
this head-ache behind me and move forward with my life.
                                                  Thank You
