I am a Prodigy user. I loaded a new disk from SBC-Yahoo and did not
like it so I went through the process of changing back to Prodigy with
the help of SBC-Yahoo. The only problem is now that I try to search
with Google I can't get the page I want and always get sent back to
YAHOO. I also get YAHOO as my home page which I do not want. I want
YAHOO completely off of my computer, how do delete it?

If all you want is to set Google as your default search engine and
homepage, please follow this link:
If you want to completely revamp your IE browser, you can uninstall it
and then download the version from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/ie

If that answered your question, please let me know. I was unsure if
that was what you needed, since it appears that you want to do more.

My objective is to eliminate YAHOO completly from my computer. I can
use Google and I use Internet Explorer okay. The entire problem
relates to SBC Yahoo. I want to completely eliminate it and any
reference to it. I have uninstalled everything I can find that says
YAHOO. When I log onto Prodigy I get a YAHOO reference page. Sorry
about the confusion. To repeat, I just want to delete YAHOO and any
link to it.

Try uninstalling IE from your computer and then downloading the
version from Microsoft. This should eliminate all Yahoo references
and restore IE to its original condition.

you can't "uninstall" IE... instead, try upgrading to version 6 if you
don't have it already. that might help. also try this in ie: tools ->
internet options -> programs -> reset web settings.

not sure what version of windows you have but if you go to the
add/remove programs in control panel and remove all the yahoo related
stuff that should help if you haven't done that already.

also go start -> run -> type msconfig and press enter. look for
anything that needs removing under startup & services. restart your
computer. if it seems to work fine still then you can go ahead and
permanently remove those items. if you screwed something up you can
load msconfig again and restore your old settings.
