I will be a lawyer in the USA in about a year or so and will need a nice few suits. I was thinking I might be able to fund a post-bar-exam vacation by flying someplace (probably in Asia) and having a few suits made for me while I'm there, thereby saving hundreds of dollars over what I would spend here. Can you give me three good destinations, and how much I would pay for a suit of good quality. By "good quality" I mean something that would retail for between $400 - $800 here in the U.S. Also, do not restrict yourself to major cities. I am happy to go off the beaten track. If you can recommend particular tailors or stores, that would be ideal, but mainly I'm looking for reliable destinations that would also be fun and relatively inexpensive to travel in. For that reason, I'm not particularly interested in going someplace ultra-expensive like Hong Kong, even though the clothes might be cheap. I'd be looking more for towns or cities in a country like Thailand, India, Vietnam, something like that. |

You can get your vacation planned for India. You can get your suits stiched in any of the following three locations: 1. Delhi: Go to Karol Bag (a commercial District), select and buy cloth from retail stores of Raymond, Vimal and Dinesh(for wool and/or with polyester blend). Get recommendation of tailor from the store and your suit is ready. You are likely to spend about $100-200 for cloth (for superior quality, but not ultra expensive ones) and another $75-100 for stiching. the suit will be delivered to you within 2 days. 2. Delhi: Go to Central Market at Lajpat Nagar (a commercial District), select and buy cloth from retail stores of Raymond, Vimal and Dinesh(for wool and/or with polyester blend). Get recommendation of tailor from the store and your suit is ready. You are likely to spend about $100-200 for cloth (for superior quality, but not ultra expensive ones) and another $60-80 for stiching. the suit will be delivered to you within 2 days. 3. In any of the above markets you can also buy Ready made suits of Raymonds and other premium stores. These will cost you about $200-300 for wool blend and woolen clot. 4. You may be able to buy discount sale suits if you are visiting arounf July/Aug (three to four months prior to winter). 5. I can also help you get your suits stiched while you are in US. We can send you some samples of cloth and detailed sheet for your measurements. Upon receipt of your confirmation to the cloth and colour, your suits will be stiched and delivered by courier. All courier charges shall be as per actual and stiching would include any retrofitting that may be required without any additional charge (except courier charges). You need to send one half as advance after selection of cloth and remaining can be send after receipt of suits. I am sure that the above will answer your question. I am not an approved researcher with google and if you like my comment, i would like you to contact me at "mitconpl at eth dot net" for further information if any. regards, Mukul Mittal |

Cool, that is definitely helpful. I will put down Delhi as a potential destination. If a Google answerer has info regarding other destinations, I would be most interested in that as well, thanks |
