The number one international destination for the Dutch? (Resort and Country)?

Not required by as wrong area of the world but just for the record the
no 1 destination for Australians is Bali, INDONESIA, followed by New
Zealand just 3 hours away from my city Melbourne

And the Number One destination for anyone .. must surely be Australia.

favoriete vakantieland
Van alle Nederlandse vakanties in 2004 werd negenenveertig procent
doorgebracht in het buitenland. Als u nu al nadenkt over een reisdoel
in 2005 dan is het goed om te weten dat wij Nederlanders het liefst
afreizen naar Frankrijk. Een prima bestemming als u het niet erg vindt
om andere Nederlanders tegen te komen!

La Douce France
In 2004 was dat land, net als in 2003, ons favoriete vakantieland. Wat
zou dat toch zijn dat we, ondanks de vele duizenden mooie plekken op
aarde, toch voor La Douce France kiezen? Op de tweede plek staat
Duitsland, België op de derde. Feit is dus dat we het liefst redelijk
dichtbij huis blijven. Een reden voor onze voorkeur zóu kunnen zijn
dat Frankrijk de meest exotische dicht-bij-huis-bestemming is.

De regio Rhone-Alpes is de meest bezochte streek van Frankrijk voor het
seizoen september 2003 september 2004 ( NIPO statistieken) Dit heeft voor
een groot deel te maken met het feit dat de meeste wintersportplaatsen in de
Rhone-Alpes gelegen zijn.
Indien men naar de zomerbestemming kijkt is de regio Provence-Alpes Côte
d'Azur het meest bezocht.

De cijfers worden door TNS-NIPO in het continu vakantie onderzoek vermeld.
Dit onderzoek is uitsluitend tegen betaling te koop bij TNS NIPO.

I have asked the French Board of Tourism in Amsterdam what the most
popular resort is in France for dutch people to spend their holidays.

This is what they came up with:

In the period september 2003-september 2004 most people went to the
Rhone-Alpes region, mostly due to the fact that most
wintersportlocations are in that area.

Mostly visited region in summer is the Provence-Alpes Cote d'Azur.

....now that does look like it is wrong....

I know from all the travel we do in languedoc rousillion (France) that
Dutch people are frequent travellers to the south of france around the
area south of Perpignan, Collouire, Ceret, etc. It is so easy to get
to from Holland - perhaps 9 hour drive and lots of things to see and
