I heard a song on the radio when driving through Miami last March
(around a year ago) and have not had luck tracking down the song
again, so I'm turning to Google Answers... I desperately need to
find the artist/song/album name so I can obtain a copy (the album name
would be fine, or a specific download site for this song would be fine
too -- I suppose my question can be considered "answered" when I have
the song name/title/artist and other info that allows me to obtain a
copy).
When the song finished playing, the DJ didn't provide very clear info
on the song, so I've been having trouble trying to track it down.
Unfortunately, I did not write down the radio station so searching a
playlist is out of the question (it could have been 88.1 fm, near
Miami FL, and it was definitely around 8:00pm on Monday 3/22/04, but
when I looked up info on the 88.1 radio station, it said it was a
christian station, and this definitely wasn't a "christian" song....
it was some flavor of dance music...) (after doing further research,
it appears that I heard this song on a pirate radio station,
apparently there are a lot of pirate radio stations in southern
florida... interesting.....)
I have been searching on the song title/artist that the DJ announced,
and have also been searching on snippets of the lyrics, and so far
haven't found anything...
With the above as an intro, here is the info I know about the song
that could be helpful in tracking this down:
As I mentioned, the DJ wasn't very clear, but it sounded like he said
this was a new song and the song name was "Mad Lion" and the artist
was "Trump Productions", it sounded like he said "mad lion, a new
release from trump productions".
The music style was definitely some flavor of
reggae/dub/hip-hop/bhangra -- the vocalist had a very definite indian
accent/delivery style, not a "bass" voice but a bit higher in tone
(alto/tenor) and the lyrics definitely covered indian topical material
(so I guess it's likely that we are looking for something in the
general bhangra musical genre.. either bhangra or some bhangra
derivative...)
In case this helps narrow things down, I did check out some songs for
the artist "Mad Lion", and none of the ones I listened too were it
(the vocals for Mad Lion were way too low/deep & heavy, the vocal for
the song in question was a male voice, but much higher in pitch, and a
very definite Indian accent.... so if the artist for my song is Mad
Lion, perhaps there was a guest vocal... also Mad Lion's stuff was a
lot slower in tempo, my song was faster than all of Mad Lion's stuff,
overall the Mad Lion samples were a lot "heavier" in style... so I
don't know if the DJ got it wrong, which is quite likely, or if it
really is a new/recently-released Mad Lion song...) (could be another
artist too and I just heard the DJ wrong .. however, see the lyric
stuff below, that might help too....)
Here are snippets of lyric in case this helps - after considering the
lyrics, it seems like this song is describing a new indian dance
craze/moves. It had a great beat, a great vibe, the rhythm of the
lyrics was awesome, so please help track this down. Here are the
lyric snippets, these aren't all the lyrics but the song DEFINITELY
had these lyrics:
"tiger bone, tiger bone"
"wrap the turban, wrap the turban"
"kali elephant, kali elephant, we are triumphant"
Other notes:
* this is not the Concrete song sung by Sean Paul (when I looked at
the lyrics they weren't the same song, my song definitely has the 3
snippets of lyric quoted above)
* if you have other questions so I can help you narrow this down, just
