Back in the 1970s there was an AM radio song with a chorus that went
something like:

"in my room"

It was a catchy tune with lyrics I was not really conscious of until my friend
asked him if I knew what the song was about.  I said "No".

My friend went on to tell me the song was about a person who had a
rubber or plastic inflatable accessory in *his* room.

Name that tune.
Note: It might be Warren Zevon but I don't know.

I'm stumped. Surely you aren't thinking of "In My Room," by The Beach Boys?

These are the only songs about inflatable dates that I can think of:

This has been percolating in my brain for quite a while, and I still
have no idea what your song might be. You may want to repost this
question anew so that other Researchers can take a crack at it, or
cancel it. I doubt that I'll be able to claim the prize. :-(

While researching this, I could't help thinking of an old joke. 

Some college guys decide to have a little fun with a dimwitted
dormmate by placing an inflatable love doll in his bed.

The next morning, the fellow comes out of his room, and his pals crowd
around to see what his reaction was.

He says "Hey, guys, congratulate me! I finally 'got lucky'. I found
this beautiful girl in my bed last night, and we had a wonderful time
for several hours. But afterwards, she accidentally burned herself on
my cigarette, and it must have made her awfully mad, because she
pooted and flew out the window."

The song is called "In My Room" and is by the Beach Boys.  You can
