I am looking for a cognac type drink which can be mixed with Champagne
or sparkling wine, or drunk on its own. It is apparently widely
available in the North of England, but less so in the South where I
am. The name may be spelt Allazei, or at least pronounced this way.
Wholesaler names or retail outlets would be appreciated, who serve the
UK market (I am in the trade).

Dear charlesm-ga,

I believe the product you are looking for is Alizé. Produced in France
it is just Cognac or can bought blended with fruit juices.

This is a link to their UK page. You can buy it at Asda, Safeways, and
selected Tesco stores. For wholesale I would contact the distributors:
"Alizé is distributed in the UK by J. Wray and Nephew UK Ltd Tel: 020 7378 8858"
http://uk.alize.com/home.php

These are the products they offer.

I hope this is the product you are seeking. If it is not, or the
answer is unclear, then please ask for clarification of this research
before rating the answer. I shall respond to the clarification request
as soon as I receive it.
Thank you
