Hello Severisth, I will assume you are looking for general percentages (e.g., home users) since you did not specify the type of user nor location (e.g., USA). "Broadband Reports" at http://www.broadbandreports.com/shownews/27420 indicates roughly 60% of homes have Internet access and just over 1/3rd of those homes have broadband access. This was for 2003, and they predicted 2005 to be roughly 50/50 for broadband vs. dial up access. Another cross check is at http://isp-planet.com/research/rankings/usa.html which lists ISP's by subscriptions. It unfortunately does not have percentages for large groups like AOL (which has both broadband & dial up) but note that #2 (a dial up ISP) and #3 (a cable ISP) are almost equal. Also note that #23 GCI is roughly 60% broadband & 40% dial up. These two basically say the same thing - about 1/2 of the current US homes that have internet access are still using dial up. For more sources, try searches such as dial up dsl cable percentage chart dial up dsl cable subscribers and so on. --Maniac è |
