I have a Dell P4 3.0 HT with 512 ram, 120gb HDD latest SB live! card
with latest drivers. I am wire connected via a Netgear router to
cable internet access. Running XP professional with SP2.

My question is, I use MusicMatch JB v9 as my default player, and all
streaming radio sources work wonderfully from everywhere except MM, so
why am I getting streaming stutter and pauses when connected to the
MM server? This is annoying me no end? This has only been happening
in the last month or so.

MM tech support have offerd several ideas including delete MM cookies,
allow MM through firewall etc. All this was in place before, but has
made no difference. WAV and MP3 files play no prob. The cable
operator has no problems, and as I said other streaming sources work
OK. Is this a likely problem at my end or from the MM server?

It's all the more annoying as I pay a yearly subscription to have
access to this MM service.

Regards

Taking into account that streaming works fine on other players and
that it worked fine up until a month ago, my best guess is that your
MusicMatch stream settings have somehow changed by a software update
or corruption.

There are always options to increase the buffer time and change your
network settings. If this fails, then I suggest you try a completely
fresh install after deleteing all of your configuration files and
settings if you haven't already. I've learned that that will fix
almost all issues with software, especially after software has been
updated from a previously used version which can especially bring out
the bugs.

Thanks for the reply. I will try a complete re-install.

What has me baffled is why when I use MM juke box as my player for
streaming content from other sources eg Shoutcast, all works
perfectly. It only seems to happen when logged on to the MM radio
servers.
