Fantasy would be my guess. As more female gamers get into the LANage.

As soon as girls become less stigmatized about being 'nerdy' there
will exist a whole market aimed at girls. This will be a huge boom and
I always thought this would occur within the next ten years.

I belive that the Video Game industry will lean more toward the social
aspect of video games. By this I mean that you will start seeing many
new games that can connect to the internet to play with others online.

In the new Sony PSP there is WiFi connect which when released was only
used for updates but now can be used for online gaming.

That website shows user how to make there PSP uuse WiFi to play other users online.

I am almost postive that the new gaming systems will have WiFi ports
to wirelessly connect to the internet.

They types of games that will become popular will more than likely be
MMORPGs (Massive multiplayer online role playing game) And also first
person shooters.

If you look at what is currently popular you will see games like World
of Warcraft as the most popular. This is an MMORPG and i know that
these games will be around for awhile. MMORPGs will soon be created
where you can become a part of your character. I mean that You will
have a say in everything he does from creating how he longs to
selecting every piece of dialogue to suit how you want your character
to be.

First person shooters (FPS) will also take controll of the video
gaming market. The current top FPS games are Counterstrike and Halo 2.
Each are FPS yet both maintain two completely diffrent types of
gameplay. Counterstrike has been around since the year 1997 and is
still the top FPS for the PC. In this game there are two teams
Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists. The Counter-Terrorists must stop
the Terrorists from completing their objective. In this game you need
a strong sense of teamwork along with the abilities used in most FPS.
This game has in the past year been rebuilt with neq graphics and
gameplay. The new version of Counterstrike has done extremely well.
This shows that consumers are not yet done with FPS.

Halo 2 is also a dominating game in gaming systems. This game only
avilible on Xbox and is not only playable offline but also online.
Halo 2 is currently holding the most hours played on Xbox Live (Xbox
online). Sales of this game broke a record even before being realsed
for most sales.

There is no end for online gaming it will only grow larger and larger.

I would think MMORPGs have the most players right now, but I'm not sure.
FPS is also intensely popular, with many new titles every year. RTS
(Real Time Strategy) games are also popular, examples being games like
the Command & Conquer series, Warcraft 3, etc.
