I began reading the series, and was entertained by the first book. The
second was also mildly entertaining. Unfortunately, my wife became
hooked. I say unfortunately, because the first book covered a time
period of months to years, advanced rapidly, and left room for one or
two more books. I've lost count of the number of books I've had to buy
since, as each new book covers a day, a week, an hour. They are full
of long and convoluted page filling monologues, which while reducing
the white, don't move the story. My question is - Is there any
reference to the number of books that will be written, or will there
just be this same pattern, as long as they sell? My money rests on
churn 'em out for as long as possible, but I'd like to think that
there are only about 12 more books left in the series.

From Jerry Jenkins' website:
Is Glorious Appearing really the last book in the Left Behind series?

"No. Absolutely not! Despite any rumors to the contrary, Glorious
Appearing was not the end of the series. We're pleased to inform you
that the next book, Book #13, Left Behind - The Rising will be the
first in a trilogy of prequels. The last book will be Final Judgment.
Look for these four exciting new volumes to be released over the next
two years."

Of course, that's exactly what I wanted - as long as I read correctly
that, at this time anyway, they are predicting to only write four more
books. Thanks for hunting it down for me. Post as your answer, very
nice.
