Hi duganja, Think "Pro Tem" : Definition: for the time being; temporarily; http://www.hyperdictionary.com/dictionary/pro+tem A Deputy CEO traditionally would have another job title, and in the absence of the CEO, is the person designated to be the decision maker, and to attend to other duties required of the CEO. There is virtually no need for a Deputy CEO in a small company. Large corporations would be more apt to use (and need) this title in their organization. Vice Presidents of divisions would only be authorized to make decisions about their specific division, however, the Deputy CEO acts in place of the CEO for the entire company. CEO and DEPUTY CEO http://www.outokumpu.com/pages/Page____8490.aspx ..."The Deputy CEO is responsible for attending to the CEO's duties in the event that the CEO himself is prevented from attending to them..." ~~Cynthia |

Think Barney Fife: There is no deputy CEO. There is the CEO, and perhaps he has vice presidents of divisions.... |
