wrozka-ga,
If your question refers to the "great vitamin scare of '94", here are
some details:
There was an article from "CONSUMER REPORTS" (dated September
1994, pages 561-569) on the "Great Vitamin Scare of 1994" which
resulted after the report of a study from the National Cancer
Institute on the effect of beta-carotene supplements on 29,000 male
smokers in Finland.
This study showed that the incidence of lung cancer was
18-percent higher in the group of smokers who took beta-carotene
supplements than the group of smokers who did not take the
supplements.
As far as I know, this 'scare' was unfounded. You might need to
research it further through Internet-II servers and/or scientific
magazines.
