Dear Wizard,

The city is Duesseldorf (in Germany), where LTU charters leave for
Miami and Orlando. The most inexpensive flight offered by LTU costs
EUR 196.

LTU - Flights (reservations, times etc.)
<http://www.ltu.de/index.html?SiteID=0&LangID=2>

More importantly for you than this specific detail about the LTU
flights, is how I managed to find this flight:
WhichBudget
<http://www.whichbudget.com/en/> is a site showing cheap flights all
around the world. I chose only the destination (United States and then
the three airports in Florida), and checked who flies there, and where
from.

I would, however, recommend you to check out with a travel agent:
- Budget flights seem to fill up really quickly;
- There is no guarentee that you'll find cheap transportation to Duesseldorf;
- There are sometimes deals offered to agents by airliners that are
better than what you can find using your own skills.

I hope this answered your question. Please contact me if you need any
clarification on this answer before you rate it.

Wizard71,
Your question is interesting, of course, but an answer of the airport
with the "average" cheapest fares is not very useful, if it can be
accertained; no one can buy a ticket at the average price.
With the mutiplicity of fares offered for a single flight (early buyer
special discounts, group fare prices available through travel bureau
package tours, etc., people seated next to each other in a plane can
have paid greatly differing amounts, and it is surely a secret of the
airlines what the average ticket price for each flight is.
If you ask for an answer based on the momentary prices offered
directly by airlines, maybe an answer can be found, but it then would
be interesting to go back a couple of days later and see if it is
still correct.

Politicalguru shot his answer in while I was writing, and it does
sound like an excellent price, and worth the ten dollars if that is
what you really want to know.

To get a feel perhaps try http://www.bookcheapholidays.com and check
the flight section. They generally list alot of offers from numerous
agents depending on the time of the month as they seem to vary alot.
But it will give a good indication and lists all the departure points.

Ive found it useful myself lately just for quick references.

Hope that helps.

Hi Wizard,

Have you tried http://www.skyscanner.net? You can pick an airport and
a destination and they will create a bar chart showing on which days
flights are most expensive. It should help you answer your question on
the right airport, and the right day. Make sure that you have some
time to kill though, as it's a really addictive tool!

General advise - it's cheaper to fly from the UK to a European hub
(Paris, Frankfurt or Amsterdam are good) and then on to the USA. There
are some very cheap deals for Easter at the moment too, as people
don't seem to be flying to the USA.

Both jimbobbyz and nickb123 are spammers which means:

- They're stupid. How can a traditional site help this situation,
where one doesn't want to choose departing airport, because they want
to see prices from all over Europe to a specific destination?

- They're acting immorally. And who would buy from people who have
such business ethics?
