Some orchids of the variety White Ghost are homozygous for a dominant allele F of a gene responsible for fuschia flower color and are also homozygous for the dominant allele A of a gene for anther length. (A=long anthers, a=short anthers). The presence of A prevents the expression of F. Another variety of the same orchid species, called Casper, is homozygous recessive for both flower color and anther length. What proportion of the F2 offspring would be expected to have fuschia flowers if you crossed a White Ghost with a Casper? |
