I'm not familiar with that exact line, but it certainly reminds me of
Suess' "You're Only Old Once" (lovingly presented to me on my 40th
birthday).

In it, Norval the fish greets patients at the doctor's office:


Clinicians don't spout their opinions pell-mell
So you're back
with the vestibule fish for a spell.
Norval won't bring you 
much comfort, you know.
But he's quite sympathetic
as Clinic Fish go.


Any chance that's what you're thinking of...?
