There is an old song by Ruby Andrews called "Casanova (your playing
days are over)" It has been covered once or twice but was remixed
into a lounge/dance song. I heard this new version several times in
the U.K. if that helps. Can you tell me where I can get the more
modern dance remix?

Does the clip below sound like the version of the song that you are looking for?

If so, I can tell you who the artist is and give you information on

Dear "Nut,"

I'm not sure if that's exactly it but sounds awful close. In any
case, unless you can find a more modern "lounge" version, I am happy
to pay for this one. Any other leads you have on newer versions is
also appreciated (and if need be) will be compensated.

Thank you,

Ekow N. Yankah

Hello Ekow,

I hate to admit my ignorance, but I don?t know what you mean by ?lounge?.

I did find another version, by Loleatta Holloway. You can listen to a
clip at the following link (track 10):
The Hotlanta Soul of Loleatta Holloway

The first clip I gave you was by a trio called ?Coffee?. You can hear
another clip at the following link (track 11):
Collection: Coffee

Hello Ekow,

Since you believe that the version by Coffee is the one that you are
looking for, I will post an official answer to close out the question.

?Casanova? by Coffee appears on their CD ?Collection?. They
originally recorded it in 1980. Coffee is a trio of female singers
from Chicago.

I found the first clip that I provided at the following webpage:

Master Oto

The CD ?Collection? is available for purchase at
Collection: Coffee

Other references:
Ruby Andrews
?The song that established Andrews" career, "Casanova", saw new life
in 1980, when a female trio from Chicago, Coffee, released a disco
version that went to number 13 in the UK but proved unsuccessful in
the USA.?
Geraldine Hunt
?She went to Hyde Park High school and her classmate and best friend,
who was like her big sister and whom she loved very much, was the late
Minnie Riperton who recorded the number one hit "Loving You" in 1975.
Besides Geraldine and Minnie, the same school also produced the girls
of the group Coffee which recorded the 1980 hit "Casanova". ?
