I realize that different companies provide different severance
packages to employees that are laid off, based on various parameters.

I am looking to find out what the averages or standards are for
software companies in the silicon valley, CA.
My personal situation:
I have been with the ocmpany for 5.5 years.
First 2 years were in Israel (company's HQ)where I was one of the
first employees to join the company - then I was relocated to Mountain
View, CA. I did not get severance for the 2 years in Israel.
I signed a new contract with the US branch when I arrived in the US.
I was employed here for 3.5 years.
My base salary was $100,000 yearly + comissions (totaled about $40,000
in the past year).
The company decided to shut down its operations in the US and laid off
the entire team. However, the company still exists and has PLENTY of
funds.
What would be the average salary for a person in my position? standard
and parameters for determining this?
Any help appreciated - links, proof, material I can use in the
negotiations are required.
