Why are Steve Jobs of Apple and Jerry Yang of Yahoo! wearing glasses?
Are they short-sighted or near-sighted?

In this photo of Steve Jobs wearing eyeglasses, you see very little
distortion; these lenses are almost "window glass." By the line of the
cheek as seen through the lens, it looks to me as if he is ever so
slightly myopic (nearsighted). Of course, at his age, he's probably
presbyopic, too.

Incidentally, "shortsighted" and "nearsighted" are terms that refer to
the same condition, myopia. The counterpart is "farsighted" or
"longsighted" (hyperopia).

Might have slight astigmatism. Certainly all the main players in
computer development have seriously distorted vision.

I don't know about his current glasses but here are some fun pictures
of the young Steve Jobs and  Steve Wozniack. Neither one is wearing
glasses.
