I recently heard a news report about a new drug that drastically
reduces the chances of having a stroke or heart atack. The report said
that it should be widely available within about 10 years. What is the
name of the drug and the company that is developing it?

It's available now and has been for decades.  It's called "aspirin". 
It'll also reduce your risk of colorectal cancer too!  A miracle drug,
that one.  If only it tasted like chocolate!
