I use my nickname adamstrim at several sites. Frankly, I'm tired of
typing it. Is there some way I can set up an F key or combination of
keys to display this word? I have Windows XP. Thank you

Are you allowed to install freeware on the network? There are small
(free) programs that store clipboard (and typed) contents, you could
right click the text entry box and select adamstrim from a list of
stored text strings.

I believe this tool can solve your problems. It'll take a little time
to read through the documentation to figure how it works tho. HTH

Simple, type adamstrim, select the whole word, hit CTRL-C. That copies
the word into the clipboard. Now everytime you hit CTRL-V, the word
will be pasted to the cursor.

For form filling, I recommend http://www.roboform.com/. It lets you
save information such as logins/password and any other form
information, and fills that information on command.

I recomend using vbscript I've used it for macros in the past. Create
the following file with the following 3 lines. You can do this in
notepad or whatever. Just make sure it has a "vbs" extention.

typename.vbs
------------
Dim Wsh
Set Wsh = Wscript.CreateObject("Wscript.Shell")
Wsh.SendKeys "adamstrim"

Then all you need to do is associate this file with a keyboard
shortcut. That is easy to do. Find the file you created and right
click on it. then click "copy"... click somewhere else and click
"paste shortcut". Right click on the shortcut you just created and
click on properities. One of the property tabs should say shortcut
and one of the boxes on the property tab should say "shortcut key".
Type in the shortcut key you want to use.

Here is my test. I've associated the word Hello with CTRL-ALT-0: Hello
it worked for me.
