G.K.N-ga,

The Keswick Week appears to have been published annually and -- except
for one year -- uninterruptedly since 1891, with predecessor
publications going back as far as 1879. However, various changes to
the title of the publication have made it confusing to track down its
history.

I checked numerous library databases, and found the most complete
collection for The Keswick Week at the Cambridge University library in
the UK.

Their library holdings record includes the following information:

Title: Keswick Week.

Published: London

Library Has: 1898-1974

Notes: 1929-45 WITH TITLE Keswick Convention

You can search the Cambridge Library database (affectionately known as
NEWTON) yourself at:

http://ul-newton.lib.cam.ac.uk/

Note that the library record indicates that Keswick Week also
sometimes goes by the alternative title of Keswick Convention, and the
dates associated with the latter title (1929-1945) may be what caused
the appearance of a gap in publication in the 1940-44 period (though
one certainly supposes WWII might have had an impact, as well).

Other library holdings databases (not viewable over the internet)
added some additional information, including the fact that the
publication is sometimes known as the Story of Keswick, sometimes as
the Keswick Convention, and I also saw reference to a predecessor
publication titled the Life of Faith.

The earliest date listed for a library holding for Keswick Week was 1891.

The records also note that "No [Keswick] convention was held in 1917",
so that there wasn't a publication for that year.

There's a brief overview of the history of the Keswick Convention at this site:

http://www.ccel.org/s/schaff/encyc/encyc06/htm/iii.lxiv.x.htm

which makes mention of the numerous publishing activities that the
convention has produced:

"The literature of the convention includes the Life of Faith(London,
1879 sqq.), the weekly organ of Keswick teaching, The Keswick Week (an
annual volume. containing addresses delivered at the convention), and
the Keswick Library (London, 1894 sqq.), a series of religious
booklets..."

I hope I've presented this clearly -- it's a confusing history.

However, please do not rate this answer until you have absolutely all
the information (and all the clarity!) you need. If there's anything
else I can do for you, just post a Request for Clarification, and I'm
at your service.

All the best,

This was a clear and useful answer. I am preparing this for a good
friend who is also an excellent speaker and teacher. I think he will
appreciate this information… He collects Keswick week and has all of
them except the years I mentioned. I have been able to find 2 of
those. Thanks again.
