I am a programmer and am looking for detailed instructions on how to turn my program into a browser toolbar: a toolbar application that can be installed into a browser like Internet Explorer. My preference would be for the instructions to be VB or Java specific, but I'll pretty much accept anything. |

Hi, Wow, that was a longer hunt than I expected. I didn't find anything for VB or Java, but I did find a very extensive, blow by blow one for Visual C++. After going through it, you might be able to translate to VB (not sure about Java however as I'm not a Java programmer). http://www.codeproject.com/atl/ietoolbartutorial.asp Another interesting tutorial I found on the same site, which looks like a "fast" solution http://www.codeproject.com/wtl/toolband.asp using the Windows Template Library (WTL) http://www.codeproject.com/wtl/wtlinst.asp http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=1BE1EB52-AA96-4685-99A5-4256737781C5&displaylang=en And an article on the DeskBands http://www.codeproject.com/atl/rbdeskband.asp which you might get some good hints out of. If you need something more, let me know using the Clarification Request button. thanks, webadept-ga |
