i need to have answered how was it design helped to fuel the consumer
boom in the 1950's America.  so in the 1950's why did design help to
fuel the consumer boom.

im not really sure how to clarify it further ? the essay question is
using specific examples/case studies, discuss how design helped fuel
the consumer boom in 1950's America. so discuss leaves it open to
mabie it did mabie it didnt .  but i think my tutor feels design did
help the boom.  American cars , fashion etc .... please help answer
needed asap . thank you

Interesting question, but did design fuel the consumer boom in the fifties?
I believe the boom was fueled by post war economic expansion and the baby-boom.
When there is expanding demand, there is less impulse to provide
better designed products; anything sells.
