Zooplankton encompasses a vast number of different types of non-plant
living matter which drifts freely in the ocean. My questions are 1.
For Southern California's coastal area, generally how much zooplankton
is there (amount per unit volume of seawater) in the water column at
depths greater than 1000 feet deep?. 2. At those depths, what is the
particle size distribution of the zoo plankton? 3. How big does an
individual zooplankton have to be to no longer be considered
zooplankton? A good answer will answer two of these elements, and a
great answer will address all elements. Extra background information
is appreciated.
