Okay, here's the setup of the question.
1. I'm currently on an F-1 visa in the US.
2. I received my B.S. from a US institution last year, and am
currently in a graduate program.
3. My F-1 visa expires in June 2005.
4. I had previously applied for (and was granted) an EAD under OPT,
but I didn't use it and decided to go to graduate school instead.
5. My mother filed an immigrant petition for me in 2002
6. I'm going home this month to renew my visa.
7. My brother and mother have immigrated here.
8. I have another brother who has his own business back home.
9. I have bank accounts under my name back home with a substantial
amount, but have no properties to my name.
Now, I have 3 questions:
1. If I get rejected for my visa this month, can I still come back
since my old visa doesn't expire until June, or do they basically rip
the old visa up?
2. Since I don't have any properties or much of a family left back
home, and I have a pending immigration petition, what are my chances
of getting my F-1 visa renewed?
3. Is there anything I can do to improve those chances? |
