I want to buy a simmons beautyrest bed. Unfortunately price
comparison is very difficult since local stores / online shops put
their own name on variants of the beds. My question is this: can you
find a master list of equivalents that I could use to reasonably find
the lowest price?

The bed we are interested in is in the "simmons beautyrest world
class" category. Within this category are several beds; the particular
model we like at "Rooms to Go" is called the "Simmons beautyrest world
class paramount super pillowtop." Somewhere there is a list of
equivalents -- that is, what this bed is called at different stores.
Thanks for the comment!

Yes I do understand your delima. Im not a Google research but heres
what I did for my own mattress. I found the Beauty Rest I really liked
at an expensive store. Then I went to value city and saw the exact
same thing however it had a different name than the one I saw in the
more expensive dept store but it was still a beauty rest. So I
compared the specs (Pillow Top, etc..) and also the coil counts and
they matched exactly. So I called the expensive Store asked if they
do price matching they said yes. I had them compare the specs and coil
count and they aggred it was the same.

So I saved about $1,000 doing this and to be honest the expesive
stores seem to have a better quailty product even though they had the
same specs and coil count. Hope this helps. Would luv to hear how
things turn out.

Thanks to david1977-ga and all4fun-ga for their comments. I will post
results of my research in sofar as they may be useful to others. As
things now stand the multiple names for the same product work against
a free market.
