My color number19 cartridge has run out,I have tried dripping in some
ink through a hole in the side that I have made.It still does not
work.Please explain how these high street specialist promise to refill
cartriges,I have used this method of refill sucessfully with other
printers,why do I have a problem with this one?

Dear Axil, 

It could be of various reasons: 
- The printer has identified it as an empty one (the chip on the
cartidge): I must say here - as I mentioned elsewhere on Google
Answers - that my own experience with Lexmarks has been pretty
negative;
- You haven't done it in the "right" spot as far as the printer's concerned; 
- The cartridge has been already refilled several times.

after inserting the cartridge with some ink,a setup page appears,
which I select old cartridge,then ok.Any way of modifing the cartridge
to allow the ink out.Or contacting Lexmark to ask them the for there
advice,would they want to know?

the remaining lexmark 90 photo cartridge has not been used at
all,could someone tell me if it is possible to get black and white
printing on A4 paper from this cartridge.That is I woul;d have to
change some setings?
