My cd-rom and dvd-rom drives will no longer read cd-r discs?

Howdy denka-ga,

It might help researchers to know if you have installed any new software, have
a virus scanner that you use on a regular basis, etc.  Thanks!

I install alot of different software and I run Mcafee security.I have
Nero burning software.

we found this problem us too at

After a format and new windows and new nero everything worked fine.
easy media creator 7 also does good job.

Could be that you have burnt them at too high a speed. CD's burnt at
default maximum speed will play on my PC but not on my portable
CD/radio. If I want to play CD's in this I usually burn at 8X. Havn't
experimented to find the cut off point i'm afraid.

The most possible reason is that your drives laser has gon weak so
need servicing or open and clean the laser head if out of warrnty.
