I am putting together a proposal to initiate a K9 unit at my police
department using a non-traditional breed of Dog. I need to get footage
of a positive TV news story on a Police Dog that is either a Bouvier
des Flanders, Airedale, Giant Schnauzer, or Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
I am aware that a news story was done on a Bouvier from the Pacific
Grove (CA) Police Department. I do not know what station did that
piece. I will take any TV news footage portraying the above mentioned
breeds working in a Police capacity. If you can put me in contact with
a TV station that can sell me a copy of the news story I would
appreciate it.

After reading the "Dont buy a Bouvier", it appears that nothing in
this article applies. This dog will be used as a police dog.

For what it may be worth: I too read the article and everything I read
seemed relevent to the concerns of a potential K-9 handler. The
decision of course is yours, but having spent 5 years as a police K-9
handler and trainer myself I could easily identify with all the issues
discussed.

I did think the farting thing was funny. But at my pd the dog will fit
in quite well. I dont mean to pry but what type of dogs did you train?
Do you have any experience with non GSD K9's? Do you know anyone that
does? Thanks tutuzdad. I appreciate the benefit of your experience.
