Rien Poortvliet illustrated a book named, "He Was One of Us." I am
interested in finding someone/somewhere that sells prints from that
book. It is an unusual book for him, most of his art is pictures of
gnomes and birds and other animals(NOT what I'm looking for.), these
are pictures of people, Jesus and others specifically. I'm assuming
the pictures he drew for the book are also floating around somewhere
as prints, but he's Dutch and I don't speak it.

I can direct you to places where used copies of the book are for sale.
Would that be suitable?

I already have the book. I am looking for actual reproductions (or
originals if they're large enough) of the artwork in the book. Like
an 8x10 or larger, something I can frame and hang in my den.

Well, I am a Dutch sculptor - though living in Finland. As a sculptor
my colleagues frowned upon me for enjoying Rien Poortvliet's work.
Because it was so traditional (I say was, because he died young years
ago already). But he was good in his metier. Our queen, Beatrix who is
very updated on contemporary sculpture and painting - and collects it,
is also fond of his work; she even has a collection of sculptures in
her palace gardens in Den Haag. I know this because I talk to her
regularly - and Rien was a personal friend of her too. I looked op the
e-mail address of Rien's publisher: Kok bv in Kampen Holland. it is
webshop@kok.nl; I'm sure they will understand English and they could
help you find large reproductions of his work. If you need more
research, I'd like to help (you will find my e-mail address on
www.denarend.com)
