How do medical device companies come up with the names for their
medical products? (I want the companies that place orders for things
to be manufactured
and branded under their name.) Example companies are Boston
Scientific, or Medtronic.

Actually, I need specifics. For example, which divisions are typically
involved in naming: is it a marketing function, a product development
function, both, neither...? When does the naming process start: as
the product is completed, six months before, etc.?

Med device companies come up with names the same way everybody else
does; brainstorming, validating with a consultant, then breathing a
sigh of relief when the name isn't taken.

We just finished this exact same process with a med device consultant.
When you say " I want the companies that place orders for things to
be manufactured and branded under their name." what do you mean
exactly?
