I need to connect to my Mac from my pc. I need something that won't
require configuration of a firewall (a reverse connection will do) and
is free. I have tried OSXvnc, but can't figure out how to do a
reverse connection (their website says you can do it on the command
line but doesn't say what the command is).

If you are trying to connect to a Macintosh operating under OSX, you
simply need to know the Mac's IP address. You can get this by going
to System Preferences and clicking on Network. You then need to go to
System Prefrences, click on Sharing, and then turn on Personal File
Sharing.

Once this is done, all you need to do is find the macintosh by
clicking on My Network Places in Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Of
course, you'll need to know user name and password if you've set one
up on your Macintosh.

It gets a little more complicated if you're working under OS9 on your
Mac. Hope this helps.

To startup OSXvnc from command line, go inside the Application
directory(OSXvnc.app) and launch the OSXvnc-server process. To change
parameters you will need to give it arguments (-rfbport to set port,
-vncauth to specify a password file, etc). For usage run the command
with -help. For example:
/Applications/OSXvnc.app/osxvnc-server -rfbport 5901

Once that's done all that you need is to execute you VNC client from
your PC, pass the IPAddress:1 (5901 is the specified port in the
sample below, 5900 is the default port, using the default port you
don't need to specify the ":1" in the client)
