Help, please! I accidentally lost a file... Here's what happened.
Opened important MSWord file attached to Excite email (browser is IE
6) (clicked on download button in Excite, and got the windows message
open or download -- i inadvertently picked open, proceeded to edit
file extensively in MSWord, ctril-s saved frequently (did not do a
"save as") then closed doc in MSWord. The file has disappeared, all
searches thru Windows are fruitless. Nor did it save changes to the
original attachment in the Excite email. Is it gone forever? Please
please advise. Thank you!!

I'm thinking that if your using Outlook to download your mails then it
should be in the temp folder, if you type:

%temp%

in the run dialogue box it will take you to this folder.

However if you where using the webmail client on IE, then it could be
in the IE temp folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\

The other option is to do a search of all .doc that have been changed
in the last day.

Also when doing a search, make sure you use the advanced options to
make sure you are looking in hidden folders. By default, you are not
looking in hidden folders and often times the temporary files are
hidden.
