Question ID: 487409
I had a quick ??? before I order a paternity kit....

Of The Paternity Testing Laboratories In The USA and UK That Are AABB
Accredited, Who Sells The Cheapest Legal Paternity Test on the Internet???

THEY MUST DO THEIR OWN AABB ACCREDITED TEST, AND NOT SUB IT OUT!!

I had someone tell me that ("SWBIC" University Of New Mexico) doing
business on the Internet as http://www.paternityusa.com, sells an at
home AABB accredited legal paternity test for only $250.00.... I
wanted a 2nd opinion if that is the cheapest before I buy....

Thanks

The lowest price for an accredited legal test can actually be found at
www.gtldna.com. This is the lab that perform the actual test and is
part of New Mexico State University. The price is $230 for Alleged
Father, Mother and Child.

Beta Paternity (www.betagenetics.com) has an at-home test for $235.
They are partners with DNA Diagnostics Center (www.dnacenter.com), who
are the most trusted paternity lab in the world. (Made famous by the
Maury Povich show)

If I were to get a test done I would get it from there, because they
have the backing of a clear leader in the industry. Would you trust
your test with college students or with leading professionals?

I do not believe that any at-home tests can be used as legal. When
you get to court, the judge will throw it out and order a true legal
test - where you have to go to a collection site such as hospital and
get fingerprinted and pictures taken while they obtain your samples.
This is especially true when working with child support cases. There
is a lot of money switching hands in this situation, so they want to
make sure that the results are real.

That is another reason to get it from Beta Paternity, if there ever is
a problem where you need a legal test they will refer you to DNA
Diagnostics Center and give you a discount on your legal test for
using their partner.

If you are just wanting to know the truth, and don't believe you will
be using it in court then I would recommend Genesys
(www.paternity-answers.com). They will send you a free testing kit to
collect your own samples and they charge only $165 for the testing
services.

Lowest is not always best. I know of a company that does paternity
testing based out of Atlanta, Ga. (Testing Made Easy) they do testing
nationwide. Legal testing can only be done by an authorized collector
not with an in home test. They charge a flat rate for a legal test of
$425.00 and a home kit at $270.00 and they guarantee results within
48hrs. 99.99% or above sure.  I've recommended many people to them;
all happy campers.
