I and my family want to live in France for a couple of years. Possibly
up to 5 years. As you know, with high unemployment and protective
hiring laws this it is not impossible but extremely difficult to be
hired directly by a firm in France and then move there.
I have 10 years of experience in technology, mostly as a consultant
doing software design and development, team leadership etc. The most
plausible way to do this seems to be hired into a French company here
in the states or an American firm with an office in France and then
use the internal processes to apply for a transfer.
Please provide me with list of French technology companies with
offices in the US and/or American technology companies with offices in
France that actively transfer associates to and from France on a
permanent or semi-permanent basis.
Some criteria that I would like to have...
Technology companies are preferred although regular companies that are
in need of IT experience is ok. The huge consulting companies like
Accenture are obvious. They can be in the list but I would like the
less obvious ones but nevertheless actively transferring associates. I
am not particularly attracted to very large companies but realize that
this may be a necessity. I would prefer French companies although
American ones are ok as well. I would like contact information for
these companies. If they have a special office that handles global
staffing, I would prefer to have that information aside from the
standard HR contact info. I also have a preference for companies that
are located in Columbus, OH or central Ohio as I would not have to
move somewhere else just to be hired. Central Ohio is not a
?must-have? but a preference. Another possibility is to have companies
that require travel to and from France regularly as part of the job
without permanent residence as a possibility.
If there are any statistics for hiring, employee head count in the US
and abroad please include as a ?nice-to-have.? Also, if there is a
profile\resume requirements for positions such as this please include.
In addition to the list, if you have any other advice along these
lines please include the link to those previously answered questions.
I know the topic is fairly popular in some circles. Other strategies
are welcome reading as a side note. |
