Don?t want to upset you, but inventing is the easy part -- if one is
of that ilk. Marketing, or getting anyone to take up your idea is a
very hard slog. But if you have faith in the invention, be prepared
for a struggle and don?t get disheartened.

I agree with Guzzi-ga.
It could be a tough go, but stay tough and stick to your guns.
Do a TON of research on you own too.
Find a reputable atty to help you out.
The US Government also ahs a ton of free info to help walk you through
the processes. I belive they have a free information packet that you
can order.
Good Luck,

I attented an inventor/entrepreneuring conference back around
1990-ish. One of the speakers was Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari,
who gave a supremely entertaining and informative talk. A couple of
his points:

1. Never mistake a banker for someone who is going to help you.

2. As far as funding sources go, VCs are "right up there" at rank 13,
just beating out drug dealers (or, was it the other way around? Hmmm,
must check my notes).

3. As for patents, be aware that the true cost of a patent is about
$500,000, and not the $5,000 to $20,000 your helpful attorney will
advise you at first. Why? Because patents are worthless unless you
are fully prepared to litigate to defend your patent once it is
infringed.

"You see," paraphrasing Nolan, "patents are like a battlefield.
Businessman and women walk around this battlefield with these big
$20,000 guns strapped to their chests, threatening to fire them off at
each other. But secretly, everybody knows that almost all the guns
are *unloaded*, because each bullet costs $500,000."

Cheers.
