Is there a special name for the edge in a 3-d shape where a curved
surface meets a face e.g. as with a cylinder?

This is not very exciting, but I've always heard this called a "curved edge."

You're right, I was hoping for something more exciting! A maths book I
have said it wasn't an edge as an edge is only when two faces meet -
but unfortunately didn't say what 'it' is called when a curved surface
meets a face. You may well be right!
