Hi Christian,

While apparently no biographies of John Franklin ("Homerun") Baker
have been written, BaseballLibrary.com's invaluable Baseball Index
cites a number of books where Baker is mentioned.

Based on its title and length alone, "Heroes of the World Series" by
Al Silverman (a 16-page section titled "They Called Him 'Home Run
Baker'") would seem to be the best bet. Other books you might be
interested in reading include...

"Superstars, Stars, And Just Plain Heroes" by Nathan Salant (7 page
section on Baker)

"Baseball's Golden Dozen" by Joseph Bruno (18 pages section titled
"Baseball's Golden Dozen Third Baseman")

"The World Series: A 75th Anniversary" by Joseph L. Reichler ("The
All-Time All-Star World Series Team" 10 pages)

ABEBOOKS.COM notes a copy of "Heroes of the World Series" available
for $10. While I didn't do a search for the other books, abebooks.com
is where I'd suggest you look if you're interested in any of the books
mentioned at baseballlibrary.com.

Also, if you're interested, here's the search strategy I used with Google.

In order ...

"Homerun" Baker

Read a couple of articles. Fascinating stuff. Got his full name. Tried..

"Homerun" John Franklin Baker

More interesting stuff, but no joy on finding books on him. Hmmm. How about...

1911 World Series

..getting closer and

1911 World Series books got me to the info.

Thanks for the addition, Bowler. For some reason, the UYRL you
provided didn't work for me. If anyone runs into similar problems,
try...

You might have got better search results by using "Home Run" instead
of "homerun," since it is usually spelled as two words.
