How do I get a list of all of the files in all the directories on an ftp site? I would like the list to be in a text file. I am working from a win 98 system. I am looking at my remotly hosted ftp site. I do not want to ask the hosting company for this information. |

Hello dan_cr-ga, You use Internet Explorer (should be fairly common, also works in Netscape Navigator) in the URL bar you type in ftp://YourUserName:YourPassword@YourDomainName.com (YourDomainName.com does not have www. in front of it) This will take you to your root, and you may have to click your WWW folder to get you to the HTML and other file listings. Once you see all your directory listings you can 'Save As' plain text. If you need clarification or further explaination on this process please ask. (This assumes that you do have FTP access to your own site). regards lot-ga | |

He answered my question with his second responce. He did not undersatnd the question with his first responce. The product he suggested seems to work, to a point. I am working with tech support to see if the product will do all that i want. |

Using command line FTP, you can also enter the command 'ls -R' from the ftp> prompt. This may not work on all systems but will work on the majority of FTP servers that are Unix based. |

Yes that worked to get the list of files, but it was on screen. I need it in a text file. Thanks |
