Question ID: 49037
I use Netscape to access my gaming sites. I am constantly being
kicked off at different time intervals while playing my internet
games. It is NOT the browser that kicks me off, it is the actual
gaming sites. Does this have something to do with My Win98 SE or is it
the
actual gaming sites. I am currently connected with DSL 256. I would
like to know the cause of this, and how it can be corrected.

Are you using a USB modem by any chance?

Hi snuggle_kitty

Have you verified that your connection
is still good when you are dropped from
the sites? Such as a messaging program
still woring? Are you able to still browse
other sites? If the gaming site requires
a "solid connection" to your computer,
a drop of your DSL connection for even
the briefest of time could cause the
problem.

thanks

Doesn't matter how fast or reliable your connection is, it also
depends on how the game server behaves. Too many player logged in can
make huge ping time-out which will creates delayed responses to your
system. If the delay is too long, your game client might think that
the server was dead and disconnected you.

It is also possible that your Win98 WinSock TCP stack got overflowed
and reset itself.
