Barnes & Noble has sent me an email offering used out of print books
from classical outhors such as Thomas Mann at bargain prices. While
Thomas Mann published in German, these books are probably the English
translation thereof.

I would imagine that there are websites similar to Barnes and Noble in
germany which offer similar out of print books in German, and maybe
they have books that were not translated into English.

Does anybody know of such websites or where I could find out more?2.2.00

I wonder where and how you found all these websites

Hi vaac,

As I mentioned, I found them by searching my own bookmarks. I have a
long list of bookmarks which I've gathered over the years on various
subjects of interest and one of those interests is books, including
international websites. So it was a matter of clicking on the URLs in
my international list to make sure they still worked and to browse the
websites to pick out the ones which seemed to suit you the most, and
then noting if any special instructions were needed to search for used
books at each.

Regards,
hummer

Please try the following link.
It is ZVAB (Zentralen Verzeichnis Antiquarischer Bücher)
in german language where you can search old books per items.
Regarding "Thomas Mann" you will have about 16.000 results.
Have fun reading them all !!!

I agree, I have used ZVAB numerous times for German titles and always
been served very well.
