I have products to sell and a customer base of a few thousand. Can
anyone suggest a ready-made solution that I will not have to pay huge
amounts for? I will want to put photos of my products on and also send
emails to my subscribers.
Ideally it will have links to enable people to pay. Being in Australia
I will need links to my bank and if possibe to PayPal.

Why not eBay" If you would consider that an answer I can provide
details on how to do this very cheaply and keep your current customers
- there is more to eBay than auctions and you can link to external
sites. Also, of course, ebay IS paypal.

I operate a local and online store and changed over to ebay a few
years ago because of the ease and costs.

Does your ISP support php/MySQL ?
There´s be a great solution available then, no monthly costs and
completely independent. The shop system is open source an costs no
fee.
Please check

Try www.candypress.com, a very good ASP e-commerce solution for very
little money and also has payment options for paypal and several
others. You can customise it as much as you want and also buy third
party mods for it to make it do what you want.

OK, I don't understand the objection to ebay, I'm not dependent on
them for anything except services they provide.

You might want to check out Homestead as a hosting service - they
provide ecommerce packages, although they cost a lot more than an eBay
store.

I use them for everything other than my store.
