I am having problems getting Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4 to install an IPod mini when connected via USB. When I connect the IPod USB cable, Windows 2000 recognizes that an "Ipod Mini" has been connected. But it then tries to search for the Setup Information File (INF) for the iPod Mini. When it fails to find this file, it offers to disable the device until it can be re-installed. I have searched on the iPod CD-ROM and the Apple site for this file but cannot find it. When I install the iPod Updater, it fails to detect that there is an iPod Mini connected to the computer. How can I solve this problem? |

Is there a specific INF file that it is searching for? If so, what is the full file name? This sounds stupid, but have you tried a different USB port on your computer? I've had a USB port that didn't work quite right cause this kind of thing before. Good Luck! |
